What's to say? An even larger "largest chamber in Britain! has been found in the Mendips.
Nobody but the diggers have been in yet, nor likely to for some time...

It looks pretty though.  ;)

Well spotted Dan!
LesW - can you keep us all posted on progress with this amazing discovery?  Is it likely that many more cave systems are still hiding there, waiting for silt to be cleared?

"Graham Price, chairman of the Council of Southern Caving Clubs, said the previous largest cave found in the Mendips had been GB Cavern, a 6m (19ft) wide by 12m (39ft) high by 90m (295ft) long chamber discovered in the 1940s."

Correct me if i'm wrong, when i was in GB cave a few weeks ago it was a damn site bigger than that!!???!!!???

Pretty sure its bigger myself. I expect it is the floor area they are quoting but that isn't the full story. It's all very subjective and will never be properly defined.
