I would certainly like to get out this weekend.  Snowdonia perhaps?  Pandora?  Cae Coch Sulphur mine?

It is nearly a year since I did Cae Coch Sulphur mine with John O, Bella, Alison, Vikki and Ian.

Have you done the Gold Mine in Coed y Brennin?

Yes Richard, but I really like that place for some reason.  Is the right word 'bewitching'?

Sunday would be good?

Sunday would be better for me too.  Looks a nice day saturday - too good to miss on the lake.

As nothing seems to have been posted for Saturday, I guess the trip will be tomorrow - Sunday.  How about somewhere near a curry house?

If a trip is on tomorrow would be great to get out.

John's & Ian still up for trip? And if so where?  ;)

I don't know where everyone has or has not been ...

There are loads of slate mines;

Moel Fferna
Penarth
Cambrian
Cwmorthin
Wrysgan
Rhosydd  and others to name a few ...

Plenty of lead mines

Some Gold mines

The odd cave

And a few A.N.Others ...

Have a look in the two knowledgable banks and someone come up with a suggestion where they have not been but would like to.

 :)

What about

Rhiw Bach Mine - if we can get access - is this possible at short notice Ian?

or

Clogwyn y Fuwch Mine & Klondyke Lead mine

Rhiw Bach - I have not done that one, and don't know where it is.
I have done the Klondyke adits and the short slate mines that you have to climb up to from the Crafnant carpark.  Nice countryside and a sickeningly good climb.

Penarth could be good too. I want something easy as I indent to take my camera

I have not done Rhiw Bach either.
That's ok for me.

So Rhiw Bach if we can get access or Penarth if not?

Ian can you post meet time and place please?

Ooooooh suddenly lots of suggestions ....

Rhiw Bach mine is currently a "No No". This is the mine that Miles uses for his Go Below business - I don't imagine Miles would mind but Gethin also has an interest in the mine and he just refused Crazy Claire access on request. Given the current politics I have no wish to be awkward so we should leave that one.

Penarth is about 2 hours, possibly a fragment more - longer if John is taking piccies  :P

Cambrian is wet and possibly the same length of time

Klondyke is short and the slate mine above is also short - both better for a day wading up streams having a splish splosh in good weather

Sooooo .... I would suggest Penarth ....

Meet time doesn't need to be early so shall we say 11:00am with some sandwiches for lunch.

Meet in this layby here;

Should we invite Dylan - as it is his home patch?

Yes if you like, I am certain he has been in a few times

I don't know Dylan's phone number, but as Club Sec I guess you must have it. He wanted to show us around his home mine one day. Apart from which, Dylan is always fun to be with!

Is the mine itself far from the lay by meeting place?  If necessary, I can take everyone up to it in the truck.

The layby is where we park to walk to the mine John .... there is no way to drive up to it sadly.
