Location
SJ 124 731
Directions
1st Way
Go to the Nine of Clubs golf course and take the public footpath through the course and into the woods on the opposite side. Take the path down into the woods and head towards the horseshoe lower down. At the horse shoe, take the track towards the caravan park, the caves are right there (and one behind you just around the back of the horseshoe.
2nd Way
Go to the caravan park at Caerways (north) and take the track straight through and into the woodland behind. The caves are just before you reach the horseshoe.
Access
Permission is required from the caravan site although I think the 4th cave may be outside their land. All caves are on a public footpath.

Cave Attributes
Phreatic in nature, dry and now home to spiders.
Description
A number of small caves on both sides of the public footpath. The first cave is probably the largest (nearest the caravan site) and leads into a small chamber which then continues with a squeeze and becomes too tight to carry on.
The 2nd cave has a reasonable sized entrance (which is low) and has litter strewn inside. It quickly chokes inside.
The 3rd cave I can’t remember much about.
The 4th cave is a flat out crawl which appears to go on and on without becoming narrower. The vast amount of spiders in this somewhat enclosed space is a huge deterrent to entry.
Unexplored Passages
The flat out spider crawl remains uninvestigated as well as the chocked areas of the caves.
Digs
Potentially, at least 2 of these caves could be dug but no digs are known to be on-going.

Is anything more known about what it beyond 'the spider passage'?
No ... you want to go in ?
Yeah, I'd have a looksey. Does it look promising?
No, it's full of spiders
There are several other "small" caves very close by and they don't go anywhere (can't remember if they are just toffee or need a dig).
I have it in the back of my mind I might have spoken to Cris Ebbs about this one (or someone anyway) who said it is like a "tube" that just keeps going. For how long I don't know and I also don't know if it becomes choked ...
Only one way to find out and Christmas time the spiders fook off ...
Ian
Yep, I'm up for a nosey, spiders or not :)
Trip for Vikki to organise ? ;)
That cave is a 9 metere crawl which ends at a small chamber, just big enough to turn around in. Some of the other caves are worth digging there used to be a good one there with a 4 metere drop into it and some unexplored passages, but the land owner filled it in and its invisable now!!! cant even find a trace of it ;-(
But the site is promising for some potential digging tho ;-)
This is quite funny - I was down there today and took a quick video on my phone of that cave, I havent seen it before.

Did you stick it up on youtube ? Can we have a peep pls ? :)
Ian
Here is a link to one of the videos, dont expect a decent video I only recorded it to use the light on my phone camera, not to take a video. You can get an idea about the size of the entrance though from the size of my dog.

Oooooh, thanks ... should have let your dog go in (plenty of spiders for him to eat) :P
Hwyel, is that the same cave you say goes 9 metres to a small chamber ?
And, Thanks Mikey !
