Waders for this gaz
Steve,
Just in case you didn't read the description "thoroughly" I didn't go in either of these adits and cannot vouch for their length
Thanks Ian.
Be worth poking our heads in this copper mine, see if it's worth future trips
I think so. We should go scope it out one night.
Yeah it's on a very long list, so will have to start ticking some of these places off
Still need to go here
I'm up for a visit :)
Ian do you have a grid ref ?

The grid ref is at the top of the page B)
I saw after I posted lol haha
EDIT: content removed from public area of bulletin board.
Hi Ian, Adit1 appears to be on my land and I can’t find it. I think it has been filled in but was wondering if you can remember where abouts it was? Thanks
Pretty sure me and Gaz have been to see this one ?
Do you have the wind turbine on your land ? With the foot path that comes down the steel bank?
The turbine is mine but that field belongs to someone else, they screwed the land up when they sold it off six years ago. The farm house, barn etc is mine with two fields and the woods.
The footpath seems to have been moved to cross the field rather than come down that bank now. The council came out and have put a new style up in the field which brings you out by the entrance to the mine.
Hi Doney
Adit #1 is hidden behind a load off ferns and bushes just off the footpath at SH94124 68101
The entrance is now a lot smaller than in Ian's photo.
Please see photo's attached
are you are you an explorer ? I wouldn’t go in the mine alone the ground in places in there has some collapses.
Not an explorer but I was wanting to have a look inside the main entrance at some point. I read that the mines lead to the field that’s at the top of the driveway.
I’m struggling to find the exact point. Is it by the gate to the house on the bank?
I can see where it is on the map now. The other coordinates put it in my cow shed
That should still be on the footpath then.
So walk down the bank from the turbine jump
Over the style and its along the ferns in the bank
On the right. It’s not
Obvious to see it was heavily over grown. Ideally wants digging out and the water draining there’s a mine cart in one of them.
Thanks Steve, I might wait until it’s dried up and go for a look. Been here five years now and never got around to it.
I believe there is a mine entrance in one of the fields at the top of my drive. A group explored it a while back and I found it through googleing Bryn Nantllech. It’s owned by a coupe on Bryn Rhyd Yr Arian if you’re interested. I don’t know if the mine runs underneath our land or if it would be a separate mine.

I'd be interested to see if there's another adit or shaft to see. The water in the two adits is no deeper than waste deep and some waders should be sufficient to keep you dry. If you would like us to come along with you, you can email me at Chairman@ucet.org.uk
Gaz
Thanks Gaz.
Do you know if they kept plans for the tunnelling and how to get hold of them such as a library etc?

It defo won’t dry up the water is trapped. Unless you want to help it drain itself
