Title: Aberglaslyn Mine
Post by: Claire Brimson on Mar 30, 2011, 09:31 PM
[If wanting to do it, you will need:

Top pitch from open stope heading rock left -
50 meter rope
large sling for deviation around giant boulder on floor of 1st pitch (+ krab)
Be very awear of smart car sized boulders precariously perched on stopes with slightly smaller ones on top! They move a wee bit

Bottom of 1st pitch, rock left into 2nd pitch -
20 meter rope
There are no firm anchor points or boulders, body belay or body anchor down to 3rd pitch

3rd pitch -
20 meter rope
This should eventually lead you out into the connection passage from the drop from upper adit, window stope and the E2 climb! From here, either go back up, or have a friend rig another rope from middle adit down or clamber over the deads dropping down dangerous rock piles, then up to middle adit.
Tatt rope slings and a 30 meter rope could be handy.

I havent as yet been up bottom adit, but from deduction, it is probably blocked although there is a hole in middle adit possibly leading down to bottom adit. It is too tiny to get through and would be a largish drop

Interseting mine though and worth a visit if you've a couple of hours thumb twiddling.
