u better bloody not be coz i'm not home for another week yet!
go and have a nice paddle in the spar mine instead ;-)
I will see whoever turns up at the oak :-)
I will be there this time - and with Bella. I was hoping there would be a natural cave trip because Bella has not been inside a land cave yet.
Which pub will be in afterwards? The Brit or the ROak?
Royal Oak for those at the Spar Mine :P
Ok I've found Hendre....Found the pub,I'll be there!
I shall be there. Is a wetsuit needed this time?
No wetsuit needed unless you want to go in the water towards the incline - it is now only 6 inches deep the other way so wellies "should" be enough.
Richard - I assume you are driving a Merc ?
Ian
You would think so but I'm afraid it's going to be a Zafira!
No worries ..... a Zafira it is ... Now I can find you in the car park :P
Ian
Is there any where in the Hendre area where Bella and I can get something to eat before or after the Spar mine mooch? It seems the Royal Oak only does nuts and crisps - the real ale there was nice last time!
In Mold (5-10 mins) there are all the usual facilities (pubs with food, McDonalds etc.)
I don't know which way you approach Hendre but if you come from Denbigh there are several pubs that do food en route but you would need to eat first as after would be too late.
If you cut over Halykn there is a Mcdonalds & subway at Caerwys as well as two Little Chefs at Bodelwyddan
Alternatively, since you drive a mobile house which runs on cooking oil, you could bring your own food !
;)
Ian
Thanks for advice! I honestly had not thought to use our own cooker! Or for that matter the heated shower and loo.
McD and Little Chef to be avoided, but Subway are not so bad. But far prefer to support a genuine home cooked place if there is one on the way. We may spend most of the day in Denbigh - generally exploring and plan to be at the Royal Oak by 6.30 ish.
I'm working again! :(
In Swansea at the moment on hols! Not stopped raining all week!So won't be there.
Went into Dan yr Ogof (just the show cave) really impressive, what a find that was. (Its a rip off though)
Frank,
If ypu find the time go to Big Pit. It is a trip down into a real coal mine, guided by ex miners and as it is operated by the Museums of Wales, it is free. Well worth it even if you had to pay so free is even better. ;)
Hi Les
Back home now.
Yes it was on the cards but the weather came good so we went climbing instead, I've always wanted to do the Big Pit as it looks really interesting
Next time.
