A Noisy mouse

Did you here that, said the mouse to the cat, did I here WHAT, she replied
I'm trying to sleep, bugger off pesky mouse, and she rolled over onto her side

well it sounded like catfood being prepared, clanking your dish with a spoon
well cat food should squeek said the cat to the mouse, and that is what you will be soon

but we share a house said the clever young mouse, eating housemates is a very poor show
it's my job to do that said the fat lazy cat, thats why i'm here, don't you know

then why do they feed you, answer me that, if they think you should only eat mice
well you do have a point I suppose said the cat, I will sleep on it, that would be nice

can you smell that, said the mouse to the cat, can I smell WHAT, as she opened one eye
smells like sardines to me said the mouse, perhaps you should give them a try

I do like a sardine said the cat, now awake, I will just go and check out the dish
so the greedy cat ate her fill of sardines, then the mice dined on leftover fish

now the cat will be sleeping for hours, so the mice have the run of the house
and they all live to see another fine day, thanks to the cleverest mouse
