UCET Thursday Trip Advisor


This Thursday 24th March, we have a trip to Pearl Shaft. This has a 50 foot laddered entrance (cow’s tails are recommended). Inside the mine it is a little squeezy in places and boasts a few sporting challenges. Along the bottom adit you will be rewarded with a band of sphalerite that you pass though (watch out for that!).

Location : Pearl Shaft
Meet Place : Halkyn Quarry
Meet Date : Thursday 24th March 2022
Meet Time : 6:30pm-6:45pm
Requirements : Wellies, overalls, helmet, lamp, gloves, cows tails (optional)

This is the turning immediately after the main quarry entrance. It doesn’t look quite the same now, there is a high wire fence in situ but the lane is obviously still there.

This trip is suitable for novices with some experience, not suitable for debut cavers.

Mr Covid might not ...

I am on day 7. You went Symptomatic on Thursday ... Another 7 days from then is also Thursday.

Steve K is also on day 7.

Frustrating  :(
