Quick question.
Is anyone able to point me in the direction of a Youtube vid - made by, or featuring Doug (I think) where a caver goes ahead of the guy with the 4-gas, only for the 4-gas to sound just at the entry to where the caver has disappeared? I recall it being pretty emotional.
If anyone can find the link..... Diolch.
That was one of Ian Adams videos should find it on his you tube thing or ask him for a link.
It was an "unexpected" turn of events .....

On a serious note. Has anyone looked into an emergency recovery/evacuation air tank?
I’d be interested in taking the 4gas down the milwr too
If you go south with the 4gas you had best take ear defenders too.
tunnel south end has low oxygen levels when water levels are low otherwise rest of tunnel has good air flow due to 6 shafts open, 3 at height above 700ft above sea level and 3 lower down below 600ft therefor creating
downdraughts and updraughts.
And an HSE meter alarms at around 19% when down to 14% is OK(ish) and not fatal until below 12%
Marvellous. Thank you all. Have had an acquaintance asking about exploring somewhere that sounded a bit sus on the air quality front, and this is one of the better films I've seen which show the helplessness of the situation.
Probably a bloooody coal mine knowing you
Hahaha funny you say that....
I know you to well Phil ;) ;)
