Hi folks,
This weeks trip is to Bryn Celyn Shaft, Rhydymwyn. This is new ground for us. If you have not explored it, please take the chance. Murph and Dave are putting the final ladder in Thursday afternoon so you will not require SRT.
MEET TIME: 6:30 - 45pm
MEET POINT: Small layby/parking area next to footbridge just before Leete Valley (Rhydymwyn) Caravan Park, Nant Alyn Mill Rd, CH7 5HD. The little layby is on the riverside of the lane opposite the caravan parks camping field.
N.B: Please park sensibly and as tight as you can and be cautious of soft ground around the edges of the parking area. DO NOT BLOCK THE LANE OR PARK ON FOOTBRIDGE.
ENJOY??
I am on nights this week but off Thursday so hope to be out.
Belgrave can be done in a fortnights time.
Regards, Steve,
Can we srt to the bottom?
Murf has suggested Bryn Celyn - it's laddered now so SRT not needed .... there are other adits nearby.
Posting for a friend ....
I am going to meet Mick at Bryn Celyn around 15.00 to help with the bottom ladder/steps.
Dave
I am hoping to be out this week.
I'll put Bryn Celyn up with the usual start time of 6:30-45pm as there is a few other adits nearby to potentially peak into.
I will be out :)
I'll be out aswell, but want to get to the bottom of belgrave soon if possible.
Hopefully should be there :)
Working this Thursday, as for next week I plan to be down in Gloucestershire but I will make the AGM a week on Sunday. Any post AGM trips planned?

Where would you like to go? Open to suggestions.
Can someone put a pinpoint on a map for the meet point please?
This afternoon Mick & I managed to fit another short ladder, some timber stabilisers and also had a first stab at a fitting a scaff board 'step'. The mine topology is a bit awkward as the sloping section has a channel down the centre and so an extra wood fillets will be needed to prevent loss of spoil.
Had a quick look in the Alyn Gorge where the river was still running very fast and the 'leak' seems to have undermined more of the path. Quite a few cracks and some holes are appearing so it may eventually fall away completely.
Headed back to Bryn Celyn for 18.45 to take a few people up to the shaft and along to the adit further downstream the river.
Dave
thanks for that Dave, have just ordered 20 30 inches by 13 inches sand bags for the spoil just bought a 18 mm sds drill bit and 16 mm through
bolts to lock the bottom timber in place, if the weather is nice next thursday the dig can start, its time for sweetie to come over and start the dig if he has the help he could be in this summer but he needs commitment .mick
