Hi folks,
This weeks trip is to the magical ladder museum aka Bog mine. A great trip if you have not done if before. A nice mine full of interest.
MEET TIME: 6:30 - 45pm
MEET POINT: Layby between Llanferres village on the A494 and Llanarmon-yn-lal turning. (If you are heading towards Ruthin, layby will be on your left, if heading towards Mold, layby will be on your right). We will then bundle into as few cars as possible before driving the short distance to the mine.
EQUIPMENT: Caving suit/overalls, gloves, wellies/boots, helmet and lamp, cowstails and belt/harness, change of clothes and a towel.
Enjoy.
There is also the option of Doug's dig if you cannot make it to Bog mine on timw.

Can someone who remembers how to find the place confirm that they are coming please ... :blink:
Head towards Llanarmon-yn-ial.
Then towards Eryrys
Up the hill and take the 1st right (a bridleway)
stop at or as close as practical to the 1st right hand bend you come to along the bridleway.
Mine is in the field to the left just by the bend as you head back towards the road.
does that help.
I'd like to do this, but obviously need to be with somebody who knows where, what etc. Will keep watching. Thanks

Ant has got it wrong its in the field on the right as you walk up the bridlway and over the small hill it bends right then climb over to the right by the gate just over the tree line is a crater with a steel lid.mick

yes you did get it wrong think about what you said you come up the hill towards eryrys look at the map on the left hand side take the first right on
the bridal way head towards the bend to park as the driver its on your right unless you turn your car around then its on your left does that make it easier,mick ps you did state when driving not as a foot passenger

Oh For fuck sake! Why the hell are you being a pedantic arsehole????!!!! It is on the FUCKING LEFT as you head BACK TOWARDS the road from the parking area, So how the FUCK can I be wrong if I'm directing people to the mine from the point they park? Is everyone walking backwards??!!
And yes I am Fucking pissed off why, because as usual some smart arse comes along and tries to claim I'm wrong not because I've made a genuine mistake, which I would accept if I had, but because they don't agree with the way I've worded something.
On nights this week keeping the wheels of industry burning!! Gutted.
I will not be able to make it this week as I'm at a funeral tomorrow.
Might make it tonight and will probably head to Doug's after I have had a look to see if there are any further changes where the River Alyn takes its new underground route.
