Hi folks,
This weeks trip is to the wonderful Poachers Cave for a newbie who with a bit of persuasion, will soon be a member.
We may do the lower series as well if we have time (we need to leave some tempting bits for them).
MEET TIME: 7PM
MEET POINT: Bridge car park opposite the caravan park at the bottom of Pantymywyn/Cilcain. Sat nav/phone users, Ty Bont Caravan park, CH7 5NJ.
EQUIPMENT: Caving suit/overalls, wellies/boots, gloves, helmet and lamp. change of clothes.
Can somebody please ensure there is an electron available to use.
Regards, Steve.
For the first time this year I will be able to make it. Looking forward to seeing you at Cilcain Bridge on Thursday evening.
Unfortunately, I cannot get out this week - sorry folks. :S
No worries, will see you there.
Will not be out sorry to say. Also away next week so will miss out two weeks running.
We need to keep an eye on the weather as there may be snow tomorrow, especially as the Cilcain Bridge car park is down a dip on a minor road. I have got a Jeep nowadays (traded my Berlingo in just after Christmas) but anyone with a two-wheel drive will be at a disadvantage.
Might not be out this week.will let you know
HAS ANYONE GOT A SPARE HELMET AND LIGHT FOR A NEWBIE TO COME ALONG ?
I can spare a helmet and light.

Hope you've got snow chains as it sounds like you are volunteering to pull everyone up the hill.
I know this has nothing to do with this trip, but I have a sort video of the train starting up first time last week. Is there any objections from Mick,Doug or Ade if I put it on you tube?

No .crack on Steve
Can't make this week as don't finish work till 7.30. Should be ok for next Thursday though.
15 minutes of fame ! go for it. Hopefully you got my best side - if there is one !
Are we still on for this trip 2nt. Xx
Ofcaurse I did Ade. Your in the mine with the us and not with your feet up behind your desk.
Think I will pass on this one. The car struggled to get up a minor icy slope last night - modern vehicles with wide tyres are a pain in the arse in icy weather. Need winter tyres or 4x4 on hill up from the bridge. or a winch LOL
Dave
my newbie cant make it tonight, not sure who will be going - at the moment its Greg and Budgie I think.
Will give tonight a miss and go sledging instead, don't fancy getting stuck in the van.
I will be out with a newbie. I have not had chance to sort an electron out due to car issues. We can see what the hill is like and if need be we can always choose another place which is easier for car access.
Let me know soon if we are still doing Poachers. I gather the road at Cilcain Bridge is frozen. Hendre will be no problem, as it is just off the main road and it is ideal for a newbie. Otherwise an evening in the Glan will do me as I haven't seen any of you since the Christmas Dinner in Holywell early in December.
I have an electron I'll bring wiv.
Tex me tho if there is any changes 07402262269

Stick with poachers, other places are not far away if we need to change last minute.

I have uploaded the video from last night's trip to Poacher's Cave to YouTube!
I sped the film up by 25%, added a projector sound effect, some Art Deco style titles and applied a special effects filter to make it seem that this film was shot in the early 20th century.
