Yesterday I spent the day in one of my favourite mines in North Wales (Parc Mine). As I wandered around the several miles of passages it has to offer, I couldn't help but to reminisce the trips gone by in there with people who have disappeared off the caving scene.
UCET have a few new faces at the moment, so I'm hoping people will get on board with this and I'm hoping that the sharing of our fondest memories might initiate some trips to the places that UCET hasn't visited for a while.
So here is the challenge.... Please paste below a photo, video, or memorable story from a caving trip gone by and don't forget to mention where it is (Please note: I've posted this in the public section of the forum so potential new members can see it too)
I'll start with a photo (taken by Tim) and my video of Parc Mine

Where, when and who?
So, back to the point of this thread … “fondest memoriesâ€
This is a piccie from the first Gold Mine trip I was on with UCET in 2006. There is (as always) a story behind every picture. This trip saw the first time John used someone else’s bag (without them knowing) to carry around his “belongingsâ€. On this occasion, he had stuffed his lunch into Doug’s bag without telling him. Doug then, of course, unwittingly carried it around with him all day until we finally sat down for a (late) lunch. Having been in the mine already, we had come out in a long procession and, if memory serves, Doug was at the rear. By the time he had caught us up and by the time John had persuaded him that he has surreptitiously hidden his lunch his in bag (and got it out), the rest of us were ready to leave. Doug, having had little opportunity to lunch, was determined to make a cuppa from his flask, plonked himself down, and still being vexed from carrying John’s additional weight all day, announced (can’t remember his exact words) “I’m having my fucking lunch aren’t I†and made us all wait (you can see the feet of one of us (im)patiently waiting and the photo is taken from an elevated standing position.
From then, it became a regular occurrence that other people’s bags were filled with “stuff†for them to carry around unawares (usually rocks).
I know were is but because its me I wont say, hint was a trial level I was looking at
My first trip with UCET :)
And I still take fuzzy photos underground

As Ant has correctly said, it's the limestone workings Murph. We'd already been to the lake and were about to head out through Piccadilly when this photo was taken. We went to the Antelope after for drinks with GCC. Where did it all go so wrong
Quite!
A handsome bit of kit with an old steam engine, where is it
Same place

Flat workings
Yes quite right.
Where is this
That's in Connah's Quay, but I'm baffled as to why you would be digging there  Anything to do with the pipes that used to pump water from the Halkyn Deep Level to the ammunition works in Shotton?
It was part of the Dee clean up that GCC used to get involved in.mike Craig you already know and Steve brown also an old GCC member.
Don't know why doug is looking so pleased with himself or is he trying to hold s fart in
wrong michael check the grid ref it should ring a bell as I had to go through the grounds of the hotel to the right of the woods
Yes it was the anual Dee clean up, I was still invited to join the gcc group effort until a couple of years ago.
yes it is Connah's Quay dock where the mine water issues into the Dee we pulled out many tyres, Tesco trolleys and old bicycles from places like that along the river Dee.

there is no need to hold a fart in when you are covered in stinking river Dee sludge.
Dont even know where this is myself, Tell me Mike.

Keep up Murphy, they are not even talking about your photo.
Which BTW is near to where you think the incline to a particular set of flat workings is located.
Ant has got the area and is the nearest
