United Cavers Exploration Team

Hi folks,

There are a choice of three trips this week.

TRIP No.1:  Investigate shafts near Boydy's house, Brynford.
Meet Point: Boydy's house (Location in private member's trip page) or the Crooked Horn, Brynford, CH8 8AX
Meet time: 6:30-45pm.
Equipment: Standard caving gear (helmet and lamp, gloves, overalls/caving suit, wellies/boots/clocs) plus SRT if you wish to pop your head down the shafts. Spare set of clothes just in case.

TRIP No.2: OHA
Meet Point: Car Park next to Cilcain Bridge opposite caravan park on Cilcain to Pantymywyn road.
Meet time: 6:30-45pm
Equipment: Standard caving gear plus change of clothes. Electron/rope for shaft entrance. Knee pads recommended.
 

OHA is a nice introduction to a more sporting cave if you have not been here before.


TRIP No.3: Poachers.
Meet Point: As for OHA
Meet time: As for OHA
Equipment: Standard caving gear plus change of clothes. Electron for short pitch.

Poachers is a very nice introduction to a natural cave without having to squeeze through gaps. Smallest gap is a hands and knees crawl for 10ft at the entrance before being able to stand.

Non-members are welcome but we are able to loan a helmet and lamp but we need to know in advance.  

Please indicate which trip you will be going on and if you are likely arrive after meet time.

Can 'trip leaders' for OHA and Poachers make sure they have access to an electron/rope.

More than likely I will be up at Boydy's dependant on what time I finish.

I'll be at Boydy's but will be very late as don't finish till 8.15. If no sign of life when I get to Boydy's will meet in the Glan.

I'll be at Boydy's assuming I can find it from the directions given. Probably get there for 18.30

Poachers - I have electron and rope. Electron is via Tom so start time is dependant on what time he arrives

should get to poachers in time, see you at the car park.
